Long regarded as a City of Sports, Lismore boasts a proud sporting history with magnificent grounds and facilities for major events. There are dozens of playing fields and cricket pitches, a synthetic hockey arena, gymnasiums, tennis and netball courts, a racecourse and greyhound track and a speedway.

In the heart of the city, the Lismore Memorial Baths is the premier swimming complex of the region with a heated, Olympic-sized pool, a moveable boom and disabled access ramp, 25m warm-up pool and beach entry pool for toddlers.

The Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre has huge indoor heated pools, a water slide, barbeques and café, a youth centre, two indoor basketball courts and a fitness centre with saunas, circuit and cardio gear and a spin room.

The jewel in the crown of Lismore’s sporting life is the acclaimed Oakes Oval and Crozier Field complex. With a capacity of 10,000 people, the venue has hosted state, national and international events for Rugby League, football, baseball and cricket. Recent events include an interstate Pura Cup Match, City v Country Rugby League, W-League women’s National Football Match and Crusty Demons motorbike extravaganza.

Lismore is one of Australia's strongest regional baseball and softball communities. The Albert Park complex, with four enclosed fields, (two under lights) has hosted some of the most prestigious events and training camps in Australia.

There’s a great golf course, martial arts and dancing schools, basketball courts, a skate ramp and canoe club, in fact, there are so many sporting and leisure activities in Lismore that on any weekend there's a good chance you'll find a sport that interests you.
