The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) enriches the quality of the lives of residents in government subsidised aged care facilities who may feel socially isolated or lonely and would benefit from a visit by a friendly community member.
CVS is a federal government initiative and has been running in Lismore for over 20 years.
The CVS helps to establish links between people living in residential aged care and their local community. A volunteer Community Visitor is initially matched by our project officer with a resident based on their shared interests.
